MBA in HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT: TRANSFORMING THE BUSINESS OF HEALTHCARE

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) joins with Portland State University (PSU) to offer a Healthcare MBA Program

Combining the strength of OHSU’s expertise in the healthcare industry with PSU’s School of Business Administration leadership, the Healthcare Management MBA Program offers a unique, specialized graduate degree tailored to meet the needs of busy professionals in healthcare and related industries. The focus of the Healthcare Management MBA Program is to train managers who can not only operate healthcare organizations in a professional manner but who can also provide leadership and direction as the healthcare system adapts to meet future developments.

This cohort program starts each fall. Students complete all coursework together over a three-year period through a combination of online and on-campus instruction. Students complete their degree with a capstone course that gives them “real world” practical experience working with an actual healthcare organization.

All students in the program will have the opportunity to:

• Learn and immediately apply effective management skills
• Gain a systematic understanding of the American healthcare industry and the characteristics of that industry which distinguish it from other economic sectors
• Acquire relevant business knowledge, skills, and tools to be effective leaders
• Focus on the interpersonal and organizational skills to manage cross-professional teams and lead profound change
• Build a professional network with other successful students and alumni
• Help bring positive change to the American healthcare system from the inside
• Attend Portland State University and Oregon Health & Science University lectures including Healthcare Management Grand Rounds
